Hani Walk

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026 · Version: 2026-07-12

Hani Walk (“we”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy describes what personal data we collect through the Hani Walk app, website and related services (the “Platform”), how and why we process it, and what rights you have.

Who we are

The data controller is Hani Walk (the “Operator”). Contact for all privacy matters: shnooqa@gmail.com.

[Operator legal details — company/sole-proprietor name, registration number, address — will be published here upon incorporation.]

Data we collect

We collect: (1) account data — email, name, password hash, and your Apple ID identifier if you sign in with Apple; (2) profile data you choose to add — photo, city, bio, phone, Telegram username; (3) pet profiles — name, photo, breed, health records you enter; (4) walk data — routes, duration, distance, timestamps, and location during walks if you allow it; (5) guest booking data — name, phone and/or Telegram and a comment you submit when booking a Provider’s services without an account; (6) Provider data — service descriptions, prices, schedule and contact details published by service Providers; (7) technical data — device information, app language, log and diagnostic data needed to run and secure the Platform.

Purposes and legal bases of processing

We process your data to: provide the Platform (walk tracking, pet profiles, the social feed, service discovery and bookings); create and maintain your account; connect you with Providers and let Providers fulfil your bookings; communicate with you (support, service notifications); improve and secure the Platform; and comply with legal obligations.

The legal bases are: performance of our agreement with you (the Terms of Use), your consent, our legitimate interest in operating, improving and securing the Platform, and compliance with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

How consent is given and withdrawn

By registering an account, signing in with Apple for the first time, or submitting a booking as a guest, you consent to the processing of your personal data for the purposes described in this policy. We record the date and the document version of your acceptance.

You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account in the app or emailing shnooqa@gmail.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before it, and some data may be retained where the law requires or allows it.

Analytics and product metrics

To understand how the Platform is used and to improve it, we may collect aggregated and pseudonymized usage data: screens viewed, feature usage, performance metrics and crash reports. This processing is covered by the purposes above; it does not involve selling your data or third-party advertising profiling.

The tools we currently use are PostHog (product analytics, EU-hosted) and Sentry (error and crash diagnostics). On the website, PostHog runs only after you accept analytics cookies — see “Cookies and similar technologies” below.

Cookies and similar technologies

Essential cookies and local storage keep the Platform working and require no consent: sign-in session cookies, admin/CMS cookies, your language and theme preferences, and the hw_visitor cookie — an anonymous random identifier set only when you like a blog post, so each visitor’s like is counted once. None of these are used to track you across other sites.

Analytics cookies are optional and off by default. PostHog (EU-hosted) starts only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner on the website; it then stores a ph_* cookie and similar browser records to count page views anonymously. Your choice is remembered for 12 months. You can change or withdraw it at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer — withdrawing also deletes the analytics cookie.

For error diagnostics we use Sentry, which helps us fix crashes and technical faults. It does not set cookies and is not used for advertising.

Guest bookings and draft accounts

When you book a Provider’s services on the website without an account, we store the contact details you submit (name, phone and/or Telegram, comment) and create a draft account so the Provider can see and manage your booking. Draft accounts cannot be logged into; you manage the booking via a personal link.

If you later register in the app using your claim link, the draft becomes your real account. To have your guest data deleted without registering, email shnooqa@gmail.com.

Data visible to other users

When you book a Provider, the Provider sees the contact details attached to the booking (name, phone/Telegram, comment). Your public profile and posts in the public feed are visible to other users of the Platform. If marketplace features are used, your counterparty sees the information needed to conclude and fulfil the transaction.

Walk routes. The “Share route with others” setting is on by default — it is what lets the people close to you follow a walk in real time. While it is on, an ongoing walk and its route can be opened in view-only mode; others can never change anything in it. You can turn it off before a walk starts (the “Share location” toggle in the quick settings) or during the walk, in the settings on the walk screen.

Danger-spot markers you create are, by design, visible to other users nearby.

Storage, security and retention

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard measures to protect it. Passwords are hashed; we do not store plain-text passwords.

We keep your data while your account exists. After an account-deletion request we delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law.

Processors and third parties

We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with service providers acting on our instructions and only as needed to run the Platform: cloud hosting and database providers, object storage for photos, and Apple’s push-notification service. These providers are bound by data-processing agreements.

Cross-border transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in other countries, so your data may be transferred across borders. We only make such transfers with appropriate safeguards protecting your rights.

Photos you share publicly

Photos you publish to the public feed are visible to all app users. By publishing to the feed (and confirming the consent checkbox), you allow us to use these pet photos in the app’s marketing activities, including the app’s social media accounts. Your personal data (name, email) is never attached to such use without separate consent. You can delete your posts at any time; we stop using deleted photos in new materials.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact shnooqa@gmail.com (for account deletion — subject “Account deletion”); we respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection supervisory authority.

Children

Our app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version and its date are shown at the top of this page. We will announce material changes in the app.
