General EU rules. Additionally, since 2024 France requires a preventive tapeworm (Echinococcus) treatment for dogs no more than 5 days before entry, unless arriving from Finland/Ireland/Malta/Northern Ireland.

Vaccinations

Same as the general EU rule: vaccination after microchipping + 21-day wait.

Rabies titer test

Same as the general EU rule — only from "unlisted" countries.

Documents

EU Animal Health Certificate / EU pet passport, plus written proof of the tapeworm treatment (date, product, veterinarian's signature).

Entry notes

Separate breed restrictions on "category 1 dogs" (pit bull-type dogs without a pedigree) — import and ownership are banned. Check your breed in advance.
