A couple of pitted cherries are not dangerous, but pits, leaves and stems contain cyanide and a pit can obstruct a small pet gut.
Symptoms
After swallowed pits: labored breathing, bright red gums, vomiting, constipation.
What to do
Multiple swallowed pits warrant a vet visit.
