Cardigan Welsh Corgi

The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is one of the oldest breeds in Britain, originally used for cattle herding in Wales. It is an intelligent, loyal, and active dog with a long body, short legs, and a fox-like bushy tail. The breed adapts well to apartment living provided it receives adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation.

Carrier size

Due to weight (11–17 kg), the Cardigan Welsh Corgi exceeds typical in-cabin carrier limits; cargo or checked baggage transport is required for air travel. For ground travel, a carrier with internal dimensions of at least 70 cm long and 50 cm high is recommended.

Harness size

Typically fits a size M or L harness; an H-style or step-in harness adapted for short legs and a long body is recommended.

Leash

A 1.5–2 m nylon or leather leash is recommended. Retractable leashes are not advised due to herding instincts and tendency to chase.
