Beagle
The Beagle is a small scent hound originally bred for hunting hare in England, known for its exceptional sense of smell. It is a cheerful, affectionate, and sociable breed that gets along well with children and other pets. Beagles are energetic and curious dogs that require daily exercise and a securely fenced yard, as they readily follow their nose and can become escape artists.

Beagles travel well when properly prepared: acclimate the dog to the carrier in advance, make regular stops for exercise on road trips, and always keep on leash outside the carrier. For air travel, Beagles typically fly in the cargo hold in an airline-approved hard crate.
Carrier size
Medium carrier: internal length ~61 cm, height ~51 cm (weight limit up to 14 kg); for air travel typically requires cargo hold as the breed exceeds standard in-cabin size/weight limits
Harness size
Size M (Medium) by most manufacturers; a no-pull harness is recommended as Beagles tend to pull strongly on leash when following scents
Leash
Standard 1.5–2 m leash or retractable leash for open areas; always walk on leash or in a securely fenced yard as Beagles may bolt when catching a scent
Airline cabin travel
usually not
