Staffordshire Bull Terrier
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a medium-sized, muscular, smooth-coated breed originating in 19th-century England. Despite a history as a fighting dog, modern Staffies are known as loyal, affectionate, and playful companions with a special fondness for children, earning the nickname 'nanny dog'. The breed is energetic and intelligent, requiring consistent exercise and mental stimulation.

Needs at least 1 hour of vigorous exercise daily including brisk walks, play, and interactive activities. Avoid overexertion in hot or humid conditions. Monitor food portions to prevent obesity.

Travel
Staffies are sensitive to heat; avoid travel during the hottest parts of the day and never leave in a parked car. Use a secured crate or crash-tested car harness during road trips. Bring plenty of water and take frequent breaks. For air travel, the breed must be checked as cargo — confirm airline policies well in advance.
Carrier size
Too large for in-cabin airline travel; for ground transport use a size L hard or soft crate with internal dimensions of at least 70 cm long × 50 cm high to allow comfortable standing and turning.
Harness size
Typically size M–L with a chest girth of 55–75 cm; a wide-strap front-clip or Y-shaped harness is recommended to manage the breed's muscular build.
Leash
A sturdy 1.5–2 m nylon or leather leash; a short training leash is useful for control given the breed's strength. Ensure all hardware (clips, D-rings) is rated for a strong, pulling dog.

usually not
