Rottweiler
The Rottweiler is a large, powerful working breed of German origin, descended from Roman drover dogs, known for its strength, loyalty, and natural guarding instinct. It combines a calm, confident temperament with high intelligence and responds well to consistent, experienced ownership and structured training. Rottweilers bond deeply with their families and require regular exercise, early socialization, and mental stimulation to thrive.

Travel
Rottweilers are too large for airline cabin travel and must fly as checked cargo in an IATA-approved rigid crate. Always verify the airline's breed restrictions and size requirements in advance. For car travel, secure the dog in a crash-tested crate or with a certified seat-belt harness. Gradually acclimate the dog to travel and crates. Ensure adequate water and regular exercise breaks on long journeys.
Carrier size
Rottweilers are large dogs and require XXL/XXXL rigid travel crates only. Standard soft-sided carriers are not suitable. Cabin travel on aircraft is not possible due to size.
Harness size
Size XL to XXL depending on individual chest girth and weight. A sturdy, fully adjustable no-pull harness distributing pressure across the chest is recommended. Always measure and consult the manufacturer's size chart for a secure fit.
Leash
A heavy-duty 120–180 cm (4–6 ft) nylon or leather leash at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) wide with a strong bolt snap. A standard fixed leash is preferred over retractable for control. Thin or lightweight leashes are not suitable for this powerful breed.
