Cocker Spaniel
The Cocker Spaniel is a merry, affectionate, and sociable breed with expressive eyes and long, silky ears, originally developed for hunting woodcock. They form strong bonds with their families, get along well with children and other pets, but can be prone to separation anxiety. They require 1–1.5 hours of daily exercise and their flowing double coat demands consistent grooming.

Travel
On flights, Cocker Spaniels typically travel as checked baggage due to their size — confirm with the airline. For road trips, use a crash-tested crate or a car-rated harness. Acclimate the dog to the carrier in advance; bring familiar toys and water; stop every 2–3 hours on long drives
Carrier size
Most adult Cocker Spaniels require a large (L) carrier: internal length approx. 65–70 cm, height approx. 50–55 cm — dog must be able to stand up and turn around comfortably
Harness size
Most adult Cocker Spaniels fit a Small or Medium harness; chest girth typically 45–60 cm — always measure before purchasing
Leash
A 1.5–2 m nylon or biothane leash is recommended; a 5 m long-line suits training and active walks. A harness is preferred over a collar as Cocker Spaniels tend to pull
