Brittany
The Brittany is a medium-sized French gun dog breed, energetic and athletic, originally developed for bird hunting. Known for its high intelligence, eagerness to please, and strong hunting instincts (pointing and retrieving), the breed is friendly and affectionate with children and other pets. Travel
The Brittany needs frequent stops for exercise during long car trips. Since the breed can be prone to anxiety when alone, crate train early to ease travel stress. Ensure good ventilation in the carrier in warm weather. Due to its weight, the Brittany is not eligible for airline cabin travel and requires an IATA-approved crate for cargo. Ensure the dog has an ID tag and up-to-date microchip.
Carrier size
The Brittany (14–20 kg) is too large for airline cabin soft carriers; for car or air cargo travel, a crate/carrier of approximately 90 × 60 × 65 cm (Intermediate/Medium, 36-inch crate) is recommended
Harness size
Size M–L (chest girth approximately 55–75 cm); measure the dog's chest girth behind the front legs before purchasing as sizing varies by manufacturer
Leash
A 1.8–2 m nylon or leather leash, 2–2.5 cm wide; retractable leashes are not recommended due to high prey drive and tendency to pull; use a fixed-length leash near traffic or wildlife

usually not
